⁵ Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith ^(A)supply ^(B)moral ^[a]excellence, and in your moral excellence, ^(C)knowledge, ⁶ and in your knowledge, ^(D)self-control, and in your self-control, ^(E)perseverance, and in your perseverance, ^(F)godliness, ⁷ and in your godliness, ^(G)brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. ⁸ For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they do not make you useless nor ^(H)unproductive in the true ^(I)knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Do all things without ^(A)complaining or arguments; ¹⁵ so that you will ^[a]prove yourselves to be ^(B)blameless and innocent, ^(C)children of God above reproach in the midst of a ^(D)crooked and perverse generation, among whom you ^[b](E)appear as ^[c]lights in the world,

⁵ But if any of you ^(A)lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and ^[a]without reproach, and ^(B)it will be given to him. ⁶ But he must ^(C)ask in faith ^(D)without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, ^(E)driven and tossed by the wind.
